Hello West Durham Lacrosse community!

The annual AGM (Annual General Meeting) was held November 16, and brought together our passionate lacrosse family to discuss the immensely successful 2023 field and box season.

The second hour of the meeting was aimed at setting the stage for an incredible 2024 season. We're thrilled to share the highlights of the meeting that the board is working on this offseason so we can continue on the success of our groundbreaking year in 2023.

 

1. Expanded Development Programming: One of the major announcements from the AGM is our commitment to providing expanded offseason training opportunities for our athletes.

Our collaboration with Spartan East Lacrosse which is run by West Durham Alumni Justin, Brandon and Dylan Robinson has been fun, and well-received by our players. This collaboration provides enhanced development programming to our players, focusing on skill-building, strategic gameplay, and fostering a love for the sport.

2. Increasing Recruiting Efforts:  To ensure that our house league and rep teams are filled with enthusiastic players, we're intensifying our recruiting efforts this offseason.

In additions to expanded online advertisings you will be seeing us at a hockey rink near you in the near year.

This year we are looking to get our enrollment to the highest level yet and expose as many young people as we can to our great sport.  We welcome players of all skill levels, shapes and sizes.

3. Welcoming New Board Members: We are pleased to welcome two exceptional individuals to our Board of Directors:

  • Marc Mathieu - Secretary: Marc brings a wealth of experience and dedication to the role of Secretary. Marc has 2 sons in the club and has been an active coach in both hockey and lacrosse.
  • Dan Papaconstantinou - Director of Facilities: Dan's passion for lacrosse is infectious and we are pleased to have him on the board.  Dan has 2 sons in the club and is an active hockey coach with Ajax/Pickering.

We are pleased to have Dan and Marc join the board this year.

In addition, we are grateful to have the following board members remain with us to make further contributions to our club.
