The 2026 season is fast approaching, and we are excited to announce that the Pickering Ironheads tryout schedule is now live! Whether you are a returning veteran or new to the sport, here is everything you need to know to get ready for the upcoming season.

The Schedule All tryout and prep sessions will take place at Village Arena (100 Church Street N, Ajax).

Sessions begin February 2, 2026, and run through the end of the month for all age groups (U9 through U17/Intermediate).

  • U9 & U11: Start with "Tryout Prep" sessions before moving to full Tryouts.

  • U13, U15, U17: Schedule includes a mix of Prep and/or dedicated Tryout slots.

Please refer to the attached schedule image for your specific age group’s dates and times.

How to Register All registrations are processed through Sportzsoft. To secure your spot:

  2. Login to your account and select "New Registration."

  3. Choose your program (Look for "Rep" in the title if trying out).

  4. Upload proof of age (Birth Certificate, Passport, etc.) if you haven't already—this is mandatory.

  5. Accept the waivers (including Rowan’s Law) and finalize payment.

⚠️ Crucial Registration Rules

  • The 24-Hour Rule: You must be fully registered and paid in full 24 hours prior to attending your first tryout.

  • No Exceptions: For insurance purposes, players cannot step on the floor for practice or tryouts unless they are duly registered.

Fees & Participation

 

  • Tryout Fees: $75 for field and $75 for box.

  • Fee Adjustment: Don't worry about the extra cost—your total season fees will be reduced by $75 to offset this tryout fee.

  • Two Teams Per Group: We are planning for two teams in every age group this year (except U17), so get registered early to help us finalize rosters!

  • Box & Field: We expect players to play both field and box lacrosse. If you are a veteran player, please sign up for both now to help speed up the OLA registration process.

Top Reminders for Parents & Volunteers

 

  • Parents: Please remember that by signing up, you agree to pay any financial penalties issued by the OLA regarding parent ejections.

  • Volunteers: If you plan to help out and are over 18, you must register with WDMLA and submit your CRC/declaration prior to any involvement.
